Wandering the gardens surrounding the beautiful cathedral Notre Dame
my daughter Dawn and I came upon these strange curved bamboo gazebos
we could not resist climbing in for a picture.
The garden is well kept with a earthy overgrown look.
Giving you a feeling of quiet peace.
Notre Dane was started in the 1100 it was worked on for centuries than almost left to rot,
but thanks to Victor Hugo who lead a restoration campaign that gives us the
wonderful cathedral we enjoy today.
It stands on the right side of the colorful street Montebello where you can enjoy artists,
outside vendors called "Bouquinistes" with their little wooden boxes they use to sell
from each day. If you are a book collector like I am, it is heaven.
They sell art, old prints and other items you might or might not be interested in.
The vendor's are above the river Seine, a lovely river to enjoy riding for hours.
It took Dawn and I awhile getting use too not knowing the French language.
Ordering food was a disaster the first day. Soon we learned to love the beautiful city Paris.
We found the French people are friendly to you if you try to speak their language.
